East Brecon Beacons (Gold)

Expedition Code

EB21 - please quote this in all correspondence with the leaders.

About the Area

The Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales contains a number of distinct mountainous areas, from the wilderness area of the Carmarthen Black Mountain (Mynydd Ddu) in the west, through the highest peaks of the Beacons themselves south of the town of Brecon, to the steep-sided grassy moorland of the Black Mountains bordering the English border in the east.

Our expedition will take place in the central and eastern parts of the Brecons: Beautiful, many visitors in the centre but few as we go further east. The area you will be passing through has lakes and moraines left behind by the last ice age, an enormous network of caves, one of the few geoparks in Europe, disused quarries, forests, and many other features that give plenty of scope for an expedition purpose on this assessed expedition.
