Brecon Valleys (Silver)

Expedition Code

BV17 - please quote this in all correspondence with the leaders.

About the Area

The Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales contains a number of distinct mountainous areas, from the wilderness area of the Carmarthen Black Mountain (Mynydd Ddu) in the west, through the highest peaks of the Beacons themselves south of Brecon, to the steep-sided grassy moorland of the Black Mountains bordering the English border in the east.

Travelling through the landscape between these areas forms the basis for an interesting and varied expedition opportunity. Walking can be along ancient valleys, around reservoirs, along dismantled railway tracks, following 19th century canals and skirting the higher ground along the Beacons Way.

Please note - this expedition has taken place!

Outline of Expedition

We will drive down early on Friday morning to the start location, to ensure that groups can start walking at 9.30am. This gives us the time available to complete the three days of walking without needing an extra night in the area, thus saving money. We will return to Oxfordshire on Sunday evening.

£100 (including a £25 non-returnable deposit required at the time of application)
