OXPED CIC, formerly known as Oxfordshire Open Expedition Group, is a long-standing not-for-profit organisation licensed as an Expedition Approved Activity Provider for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. We offer expeditions primarily to Award participants from Oxfordshire and surrounding areas.
By providing a team of experienced and qualified leaders, OXPED is able to offer a variety of DofE expeditions in lowland and wild country areas of the UK (and occasionally elsewhere). It fulfils the crucial role of providing expedition opportunities to those people who are unable to join their own DofE Centre's expedition for some reason, or for anybody whose centre cannot run expeditions due to a shortage of suitably qualified leaders. We also run all the expeditions for the open groups licensed through Oxfordshire Open Award.
Being composed entirely of volunteers, OXPED is able to run expeditions almost at cost price, and offers significantly better value for money than commercial DofE Approved Activity Providers. Our operational and safety procedures are of the highest standards, and the group holds a licence issued by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) to provide hillwalking and mountaineering activities in summer conditions.
Please take a look at the expeditions we are offering this year and next. We look forward to hearing from you!
